Internal Sanitary Regulations - Coons'partner Breeding
Preamble
The purpose of these internal regulations is to define the health rules to be respected within the Coons'partner breeding facility, in order to guarantee the health and well-being of the Maine Coons present. It applies to all breeding staff, as well as visitors.
I. General hygiene of the premises

Cleaning and disinfection : Breeding premises (nursery, cattery, individual boxes, etc.) must be cleaned and disinfected daily, using products suitable and non-toxic for cats. Particular attention will be paid to sleeping areas, litter boxes and bowls.

Ventilation : The premises must be sufficiently ventilated to ensure air renewal and avoid the accumulation of humidity.

Litter Boxes : Litter boxes should be cleaned daily and replaced as necessary..

Bowls : Water and food bowls should be cleaned daily.

Equipment : The equipment used for cleaning and maintaining the premises must be specific to this use and not be used for other tasks.
II. Cat hygiene

Daily examination : Each cat should be examined daily for possible signs of illness (discharge, coughing, diarrhea, etc.).

Vaccination and deworming : All cats on the farm must be vaccinated and dewormed regularly, according to a protocol established by the farm veterinarian.

Care : Cats must receive the necessary care (brushing, cleaning of eyes and ears, clipping of claws, etc.) on a regular basis.

Quarantine : New cats arriving at the breeder must be placed in quarantine for a minimum period of 15 days, to ensure that they are not carriers of contagious diseases and a rapid combo Giardiasis/Typhus/Feline Coronavirus test must be carried out and must be negative, before their arrival.
IV. Visitors

Limited access : Access to breeding premises must be limited to people authorized by appointment with the breeder.

Precautions : Visitors must respect the hygiene rules in force on the farm (shoe disinfection, hand disinfection, etc.).

Contact with cats : Visitors are not allowed to handle cats, unless expressly authorized by the breeder.
IV. Visitors

Birth monitoring (weight, treatment, etc.)
VI. Health veterinarian

A health veterinarian must be appointed for the farm. He is responsible for monitoring the health of the cats and advises the breeder on the measures to take in the event of a problem.

An annual visit will be carried out by the veterinarian to check each point established by the annual veterinary visit.
VII. Miscellaneous provisions

These internal regulations may be modified or supplemented as necessary.
